چکیده

TiO2 thin films are promising as photocatalysts to decompose organic compounds. In this study, were deposited by reactive radio-frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering under various flow rates of oxygen and argon gas. The results show that the photocatalytic activity decreases oxygen-gas ratio is increased 30% or less, while increases oxygen-rich conditions. It was observed crystal structure changed from anatase a composite rutile, where during RF more than 40%. Interestingly, vacancy concentration conditions, sample prepared most enriched condition, 70%, among our experiments exhibited highest activity. Both vacancies rutile in conditions considered responsible for enhanced photocatalysis.

Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity of Sol-Gel Derived Coral-like TiO2 Nanostructured Thin Film

To enhance photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, coral-like TiO2 nanostructured thin films were chemically synthesized through the sol-gel method. The fabricated thin films were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), nitrogen sorption isotherms, mercury porosimetry measurements, and UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectrum (DRS). The ...

Surface properties and biocompatibility of nanostructured TiO2 film deposited by RF magnetron sputtering

Nanostructured TiO2 films are deposited on a silicon substrate using 150-W power from the RF magnetron sputtering at working pressures of 3 to 5 Pa, with no substrate bias, and at 3 Pa with a substrate bias of -50 V. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis reveals that TiO2 films deposited on unbiased as well as biased substrates are all amorphous. Surface properties such as surface roughness and wett...

Transparent, conductive ZnO:Al thin film deposited on polymer substrates by RF magnetron sputtering

In this paper, we present the optical, electrical, structural and mechanical properties exhibited by aluminum-doped zinc oxide (ZnO:Al) thin films produced by RF magnetron sputtering on polymeric substrates (polyethylene terephthalate, PET; Mylar type D from Dupont ) with a standard thickness of 100 mm. The influence of the uniaxial tensile strain on the electrical resistance of these films was...

HRTEM Microstructural Characterization of β-WO3 Thin Films Deposited by Reactive RF Magnetron Sputtering

Though tungsten trioxide (WO3) in bulk, nanosphere, and thin film samples has been extensively studied, few studies have been dedicated to the crystallographic structure of WO3 thin films. In this work, the evolution from amorphous WO3 thin films to crystalline WO3 thin films is discussed. WO3 thin films were fabricated on silicon substrates (Si/SiO2) by RF reactive magnetron sputtering. Once a...

Photocatalytic Properties of Doped TiO2 Coatings Deposited Using Reactive Magnetron Sputtering

Mechanically robust photocatalytic titanium oxide coatings can be deposited using reactive magnetron sputtering. In this article, we investigate the effect of doping on the activity of reactively sputtered TiO2. Silver, copper and stainless steel targets were used to co-deposit the dopants. The films were characterised using XRD, SEM and EDX. Adhesion and mechanical properties were evaluated us...
